𝖽𝗈 𝗇𝗈𝗍 𝖾𝖽𝗂𝗍/𝗎𝗉𝗅𝗈𝖺𝖽 𝗆𝗒 𝗐𝗈𝗋𝗄 𝗂𝗇 𝖺𝗇𝗒 𝗐𝖺𝗒 𝗐𝗂𝗍𝗁𝗈𝗎𝗍 𝗆𝗒 𝗉𝖾𝗋𝗆𝗂𝗌𝗌𝗂𝗈𝗇 ♥

this is for ruietto's contest ^^ the word i got is "liberosis".
this isn't in any like actual dictionaries i could find so i don't think it's technically a word but that's okay xd

i did look it up and basically what i found ( in addition to the definition ruietto gave me, which was very helpful!) was that "liberosis" means a desire to care less about things but not really in a negative way- it feels more like wanting to care less about things to be able to be free of the worries, to be able to feel less of the burden of like-life-idk, and to trust in your friends and the people around you more.
I tried to make a skin that reflects that. the back of the skin is in shadow, and has more muddy and dark colors, reflecting the worries and anxiety that come with life. I mixed in other colors to have a more chaotic look as well. the dress in the back is long and i added wings that stretch downwards to represent mental heaviness or burdens. the dark, desaturated colors also help with this.
going towards the front of the skin, i included lightsourcing on the sides- it's pretty sudden but it's sort of like turning towards this desire, while still being in darkness?? so it's purposefully a sudden change in light. the front of the skin has more pastel and bright colors (it kind of hurt my eyes going from the back to the front lol) and has a lighter and more weightless effect to it, represented by the wavy hair, flowers, and fluffy dress ^^
this is to reflect the "desire" part of the skin, to care less about things, rather than the burden of caring- i tried to make it look peaceful and light, and i had the eyes be closed as an additional representation of trying not to care about things; to seal yourself off from that. but the front of the skin doesn't look sad, because the meaning of the desire in the definition seems to me like it's more of trying to be free, putting trust in others, and taking life less seriously.
this skin also is half in light and half in dark because "liberosis" appears balanced to me; the current state of things might be caring too much, or having worry and anxiety a lot; while the "desire" seems to be a bit too careless and possibly avoiding of responsibility; too dependent on others.

this skin definitely turned out better than i expected it to, so that's good!! i like it c:
