This is my entry for the Land of Insects contest

I created a firefly for this contest because they're always so fun to see out in the wild (they're also one of the less creepy insects in my opinion haha). I love the sort of mystical feeling they give off and love seeing animations and art that they're included in, they create a really great atmosphere.
I wanted to play around with colors and light sources with this skin. (better viewed with a dark background)
The lines on top of the abdomen are it's bottom 4 legs and the arms are the top two legs.

Absolutely stunning! I'd chosen this insect as a theme as well for the entry I'm still working on, but it's nowhere near this style (or quality) at all. 110% perfection on capturing the firefly's glow! :)

OMG, I love it so much! How do you get the colors to glow like that? It almost looks like an emissive texture.

Thank you so much, that means a lot. The easiest way I can describe how I did it is lots of varying levels of hue shifting and saturation with careful placing of pixels, it definitely took me a while to get it where I liked it :)
