A common lizardman found inhabiting ancient jungle ruins. Boasting three inch talons and strong beaks lined with small, razor sharp teeth these reptiles are not to be trifled with. When threatened they issue a hiss from deep within their chest, and attack with reckless abandon, gnashing their teeth and tearing at any exposed flesh they can get at, throwing their own personal safety aside in efforts to bring down a fresh meal. These lizards are exclusively carnivorous and highly aggressive. Younger specimens such as this possess meagre intelligence, comparable to that of a crow. They are able to use tools, come up with simple solutions to minor issues, and seem to understand orders given from higher ranked Lizards, however any higher brain function is evidently limited. Life expectancy for the Lizardman is unsurprisingly low, considering their violent natures and reckless methods of conflict resolution. Should a lizard live long enough however, it will begin to molt, growing stronger, faster, and exponentially smarter. There are reports of some of these molted lizardmen showing magical aptitude, further investigation is needed to verify these claims. The lizardman is an imposing creature, standing at an average height of 6'6 (200cm) and weighing close to 250 pounds they are surprisingly quick, and can quickly close any distance by leaping with their strong legs, or even crawling across walls. Individually they are dangerous, but ultimately manageable. The problems arise when one encounters a group, which more often than not is the case. If presented with this scenario there is not much the average person can do- our recommendation is fire, keep a torch handy, and hope the light is enough to keep them at bay. The Lizardmen abhor fire, and will begrudgingly keep their distance should someone possess a lit torch. Lizardmen are nocturnal, however they are somewhat active during the day. Lizardman hunting parties will scour under the jungle canopy near their camps for anything made of meat. These groups that often measure in the dozens at times can even be found to forego terrestrial travel and move exclusively through the trees, leaping from branch to branch with their powerful legs, waiting for their chance to pounce on any would be meals.
