in no particular order

01 : boxy shading, shading on every edge
02 : highlights where highlights dont belong
03 : AUTOTONE
04 : dull, lifeless colors
05 : shading colors with a color lighter than the base color
06 : NOT UTILIZING THE OUTERLAYER
07 : using the basic "namemc" style shading without any creativity
08 : using white or black (#FFFFFF or #000000)

i agree with all of these omg [​though i am guilty of adding random highlights in places LOL]... lowkey painful that i used to make namemc style skins over a year ago but then again thats the only place i looked at when looking for skins so it kinda got engrained in me LMAO

also, maybe im just not an informed mc skinner, but wdym by autotone? ive never heard of it c.c

this tool (highlighted in orange) on skindex,,
basically just makes every pixel a slightly different shade of the color youre using,, its horrible </3
