Somewhere in the middle of nowhere is a small village, not much people live there, and even less people dare to visit it. Rumors say its haunted, once you cross the border you'll never be the same person you were before.

What most people don't know is that the rumors ain't totally false. Those who dared to enter the village would indeed never be the same person again.

One of those brave humans was Sir Williams. He then was a young fortune seeker with a passion for everything that involved food. He lived near the village and had a tiny wooden house, many would call it a shed, but he was happy. He owned a big field full of pumpkins, there was no Mrs Williams, the only love in his life where the pumpkins, he lived for them. But once every 4 years around october, the harvest would fail. There where creatures, Williams didn't know what of a kind, but he did know they ate every single one of his dear pumpkins, and it made him furious. He was determined to outsmart the creatures this one year, and o boy, he did outsmart them. He knew from previous years where the creatures came from, the haunted village. So thats where he headed to, not knowing this would be the last time he could look himself in the mirror without shame. He made preparations and left early in June.

What then happened is even for him vague. Some deal he made to protect his field, a promise he would later call a sacrifise, and a wound of which he did not know the cause.

Weeks went by and october arrived. This was the first time Williams was confronted with his new self. It was not like a movie, it just happened, one moment William was eating pumpkinsoup, the other the silver spoon burned his hand. As he threw the spoon he saw a glance of thing in the reflection, but he didn't recognize it as himself, he was wearing his blouse, but it was torn appart by the hairy body underneath it. The eyes were yellow and the ears where on top of his head. If that sudden noise of the fields had never came, he would have stared at his reflection for the rest of october. But it was there, and Williams knew it were the traps he set, determined to catch the creatures he quickly ran outside, just as quick he stopped when he saw the moon. As if he was hypnotized he stood there, trying to resist the urge to howl, and failed. From there on things escalated, you could only tell it was mr Williams by the way he jumped in front of the pumpkins and his clothes, apart from that he was just a wolf who saw his prey. I won't go into details but as he protected his dear pumpkins, blood was shet.

Since then Sir Williams isn't scared for his pumpkins anymore, but for his own life. Afraid to get killed during a fight in October, he really just wants to stay inside throughout the whole month, but the need to howl to the moon is too strong.

Creatures from all over the place wander around, cursed by that one village no one deares to visit. That place people avoid because of the rumours. Its just like they say: Denying rumors will give them more power.
