there is seriously something wrong with the way PMC shows skins... i use this and there is no grey spot on the chin and nor is there 2 pixels of gold on the left side of the helmet (which also can be seen on the actual texture).

Nothing wrong with PMC. It is you. You used a smudging tool too much, and maybe without having you notice it, the skin got a little bit dragged over to the transparent area.
To fix it, (gimp) Image-Mode-Indexed
*please note that going back to RGB mode won't retrieve the grey pixels.

you're really a arrogant fool don't you think i have made sure it's 100% wrong before i say it!
i have checked several times and it's not the skin, which you also can see. i am wearing the skin and there is not the wrong spots i think i got an idea how to update it though.

also please note if you don't have anything possitive to say SHUT UP! i am freaking tired of your "suggestions" etc. you don't get bigger by torning others down.

In-game the semi-transparency does not exist anywhere, but the previewer on PMC has got it on the hat layer.

i found out the problem. pmc does not update the skin if the new skin uploaded is called the same as the previous file. i renamed the file and uploaded it again and now it works :P
