Putidus is the third being created by the Great Spirit. His job is to manage all the dead material on earth so that humans can continue living properly.
Before his creation, man was waist deep in the carcasses of deceased animals and plant life, often wading through rivers of flesh in order to reach their farms. The citizens, angered by the great spirit's negligence to the issue, demanded a solution.
At first, the great spirit called for the god of consumption to devour the black rivers, but he got carried away and began eating living people and animals.
In frustration, the great spirit called out to the god of water to wash away the old flesh, but the lakes and oceans became polluted with the tons of carcasses covering the earth.
Finally, as a last resort, the great spirit created Putidus, the god of Decay. Putidus then proceeded to create fungi, flies, and vultures to devour ONLY the dead material. His creations succeeded in removing the waste, and he is celebrated by the people as a great being. Putidus then traveled underground and told man to bury the dead. In doing so, they would send their dead to Putidus's minions who would remove the dead's flesh and free their souls.

These contests are entirely fair, I myself have always been within the top 4 always in all the contests I've participated. It's about the skin, not staff. Trust me, I've talked to them and seen how they work the contests
