I emerge from the murky slimy water I love so much. My home. I scan the shore line searching for the cause of the noise I felt vibrating my swamp. I see nothing but a tent. I had no idea they were still around. Every since the Nuclear War of 2865, no one risked living in a stationary place. As a result, in the early 3000's the government created what they called "Safe Heaven" tents. I've heard that they have the proclaimed magician Marcus working for them and he has put some spell over the tents that allows them to be abnormally large on the inside despite the drab exterior.
The humans say that Marcus made a special tent for himself incase the government went under. This couldn't be that one though because it had the civilian logo. A bright red triangle with an eagle soaring over it. I know i should't go close to it because it's said to have a safety precautionary system when it senses one of...us. I'm what the humans like to call a Reptilious.
I let my curiosity get the best of me. I cautiously move forward being as silent as possible. I reach the tent and am very surprised to find its flaps wide open. I peer inside, one eye focused at the object in the center. A round flask tightly sealed shut. My other eye looking at the large stash of food. The third eye of mine is looking out the front facing window at the sunset. Unfortunately I don't have four eyes. If I did, I would've had one looking at the entrance for security.
Right as I was thinking this, a hard kick landed on my lower back sending a sharp painful pulse through my spine. As I tumble to the floor i get see the owner of the kick. I'd recognize his face anywhere. I was staring into the eyes of Steve! I let out a gasp both of pain and shock. He ran over to the flask i had been examining and twisted it open. Suddenly I felt something pulling me in! Could this have been the safety device for creatures like myself? I didn't want to find out the hard way. Sadly Steve was thinking the opposite. And he had the upper hand. He continued kicking me until i was only inches away from the vortex. Right before i was sucked in, I asked "Where are you sending me?" He smirked as responded "LaggCity"
I awoke abruptly in what seemed to be a walk-in closet. I reached out to touch the handle but my own hand jutted back. I tried to move but found that every movement i made would just send me back to where i started. Staring at the vast world just inches away with nothing but a simple wooden door in my way. I was stuck. Forever.
Please Diamond!!!
