Hmmmm... I think you should do a kind of cat with very simple shading - and not kind of random shading like you have done.. But otherwise, I think you should choose a lighter orange and it would look better :)

I think it's ok. Just shade where the dark/hidden parts are and around it.. And if you are doing spots/cubes then use at least three colors so you can overlaythem with the darker with the middle.
