Ok, so here is the shading technique that I will be using on my skins from now on.
As I said in the title, it is NOT as hideous as the image says, PMC just doesn't like the transparency settings.
Now, before you go all willy-nilly and slap it onto any old block coloured skin; STOP.
That will look hideous.
Thanks all! And feel free to use and adapt it as you wish!

A quick guide.
Now, that may contradict what I said earlier, however what I'm saying has some credit to it.
If you merely use this:
It will turn out like this:
Hideous, amirite? This is because that template is purely skin coloured. So basically, if you're making a naked skin, sure, use it.
However otherwise, to make it look actually decent, you'll have to use some kind of editing software to select the sections you need, and change their HSV/RGB values.
This is the same template after being edited:
It turned out like this:
This is because I have changed the colours of the legs, arms and body of the skin.
Ok, so, there's a quick guide on how to use it. Oh, and you don't need to change the hair, that should be fine.
Oh, and, if any of you, for whatever reason, want the test skin I used for this, PM me and I'll send you the texture file.
