The king of all Silvergfish has been with you the whole time. He sacraficed his life as a giant into a million pieces. Each time you mine an ore, you destroy a piece of him. The reason he made his sacrafice was to let monsters spawn in caves and to resurect the extint silverfish... and a billion others. He carries on an upgraded ability of other Silverfish. He can hide in ores. He rarely recombines himself into a player-size version of him near alot of ores.
