The machine-cults of the Imperium of Man praise the Omnissiah, the Machine-God, and the machine spirit, worshipping human constructs as miracles. They maintain and build the weapons, vehicles, and other equipment of the Imperium. However, they also maintain their own military to defend their forge worlds, and their interests, from invaders — and sometimes the rest of the imperium. The rangers of the Adeptus Mechanicus serve as their frontline soldiers, modified with huge numbers of mechanical additions to increase their combat potential.
