Sock Monkey [contest entry]

The boy clutched the ragged doll to his chest, not even knowing where the sock monkey had came from, or it's dark history. 

That eponymous sock monkey was a rather famous old soul, causing the seduction and destruction of many murderers. It had turned itself anthropomorphic hero, to influence the children he came in contact with that he was to be trusted. After many years, he had assimilated their brains into doing his dark bidding.

The boy was still clutching the sock monkey in his arms, hoping that somehow it would protect him from the malice from under his bed. The maleficent footwear-primate then transformed to a magnanimously stud of a beast, ready to save another child from what lurked under the bed, and in doing so, conforming another child into his control.
