Solar Boy Django, hero of the Boktai series! With his trusty Gun Del Sol, the Immortals don't stand a chance!


The Boktai series is a trilogy of Game Boy Advance games by Konami, published by Nintendo. The cartridges have a solar sensor built into them in order to utilize real sunlight to charge the in-game weapons, beat bosses, and solve puzzles. They're really unique and fun games with action RPG and stealth game elements all wrapped into three neat little packages (the third game was never officially released outside of Japan, though). I highly recommend playing through them, if you can find any copies!



I have many fond memories of playing these games on sunny summer days, but the one I remember the clearest is finally defeating the final boss of Boktai 2 as the sun was setting-- it was really intense, racing the sunset! Growing fruits at the Solar Tree in the first game is also strangely satisfying.
