•Description•
Peter Jason Quill is a Celestial-Human hybrid who was abducted from Earth in 1988 by the Yondu Ravager Clan, and raised as one of their members, eventually building a reputation as the notorious intergalactic outlaw Star-Lord.
Sometime during the process of rebuilding Knowhere, Quill has fallen into deep alcoholism as he was still reeling from the lost of Gamora. Nebula was able to carry him and put him into bed. Later during the night, the Guardians are attacked by Adam, a superpowered being created out of revenge by his "mother" and the empress of the Sovereign, Ayesha. Quill wakes up and sees Adam carrying Rocket. During the fight, he faces Adam while shooting his quad blasters at him. Rocket is seriously injured, leaving the Guardians unable to tend to his wounds due to a kill switch embedded in him.
Quill and the team resolve to travel to the Orgoscope, headquarters of the High Evolutionary's company Orgocorp, in the hopes of finding an override code. With the assistance of the Ravagers and a reluctant Gamora, they infiltrate Orgosphere and retrieve Rocket's file. However, they are attacked by Orgosphere's guards, barely escaping after Quill remotely activates the guards' suit jetpacks.
The team next visit Counter-Earth against Gamora's advice, who angrily bails out on them after calling out not only the Guardians, as a whole for them constantly making up separate plans because they feel like it, but Quill for his need to make her like the Gamora he once knew. Quill, Nebula, and Groot trace Orgocorp scientist Theel to the High Evolutionary's ship.
The ship begins to launch with Quill and Groot captured onboard, and the pair successfully defeat the High Evolutionary's men and capture Theel, jumping off with him and retrieving his memory before Gamora meets them. On the Guardians' ship, Rocket flatlines, but Quill successfully implements the override code and revives him.
The Guardians fight the High Evolutionary's men, while playing No Sleep Till Brooklyn. As the Guardians rescue children and animals being held on the High Evolutionary's ship, Quill barely escapes, beginning to freeze in space before being rescued by Adam.
In the aftermath of the battle, the Guardians, in their current form, decide to disband upon returning to Knowhere. Quill catches Gamora rejoining the Ravagers, having come to terms with the loss of his version. However Gamora notes that had things been different, they would've made a 'fun' pair and the two leave on good terms. Quill then bestows the rank of Captain of the Guardians upon Rocket before leaving for Earth, where he reunites with his grandfather, who happily embraced him after years of missing him. Sometime later, Quill had breakfast with his grandfather, who was busy reading a The St. Charles Post article about Kevin Bacon's alien abduction.
