This skin is inspired by the dress above. πΌ
It is a 17th-Century dress that was found in a shipwreck in the Wadden Sea by Dutch divers. The dress may have belonged to an English noblewoman. [βarticle] It's quite rare for textiles to stay preserved underwater for such a long time. So I guess you could say this is a very seaworthy dress. π These are similar dresses from the same period that I referenced for this skin:

I wanted to represent the dress as it once was when worn by its owner, next to the sunken dress at it was found in a shipwreck 400 years later. This dress was found in cargo, but I liked the idea of having the bones there since the woman who wore it passed centuries ago. To sort-of represent that wealth isn't forever.
It's been a while since I first read the story about this sunken dress, and I've had a go at this concept before but then it didn't work out. Now with the Seven Seas contest theme, I had a good reason to have another try. π Really did spend too much time on this but figuring out these colors has been fun. Now fingers crossed for a good contest score. π€

In the sunken wreck of the Swedish warship Vasa, marine archeologists found human remains which had boots and some clothes, and inside the skull of the uncovered remains was a preserved brain. Nearly the whole warship that sunk also had been preserved, so much so that the ship was restored and is on permanent display.
nonetheless, this skin is very good and deserves its spot on finalists, good job!
Best of luck in the contest!
