He is an extraterrestrial from the destroyed planet Krypton, where he was originally named Kal-El by his Kryptonian parents before they sent him to Earth for him to have a chance to live and carry on Krypton's name. Superman's personality reflects his role as a symbol of hope and inspiration. He carries a sense of responsibility and duty to protect the innocent and defend the weak. Despite his immense power, he exhibits humility and an understanding of the importance of using his abilities for the greater good.
