Legend tells of Lyris, an imuplsive youth that suddenly vanished from her father's estate in the England, only to appear a century later on the shores of Hokkaido in Japan. Physically her body showed signs of respiratory trauma common of drowning victims, and yet she maintained ordinary faculties and bodily functions. She seemed otherwise normal, save for 'Mr. Takoyaki' - the octopus affixed to her face.
She herself claimed to have met Mr. Takoyaki whilst adrift at sea and had henceforth formed a rather extraordinary symbiotic relationship. Clearly Mr. Takoyaki is not your usual octopus - aside from prolonging Lyris' lifespan well beyond her supposed drowning, Mr. Takoyaki is alleged to possess omniscience. Lyris was quite adamant about it, though it seemed knowledge passed onto her from Mr. Takoyaki was limited to Japanese cuisine and obscure Polish folklore among other unusual things.
I need to thicken the tentacles, but I thought I'd upload what I've got rn cause I'm happy with it : )
