So I was playing around with the Itembound pack (love it) and the spear texture I thought could make a good Naginata. The Sohei are warrior monks that wield Naginata, and often had armor similar to a samurai's. Little bit of a fun project of mine, wanted to do something like it for a while. Hope you enjoy!

Here's the pack I mentioned. It's totally vanilla, just needs optifine.

Itembound is really getting the publicity it deserves.


I think.... you should try some steampunk-style skins, like mechs and clockworks and elementals, imagine a samurai skin mixed with a recolored version of your chernobyl skin with gears! all mashed into one! I have images all planned out in my head... Thats my problem, i can visualize it but i can't actually create it.. thats where you come in!

I am working on a space age skin right now though, bit out of the genre you're going for, but hey.

Not entirely sure, it's quite simple because all they have is the one layer, and the any of the headwear sits literally on top of the head. It probably won't work for my style, but we'll see. I've tried making it before actually, but I wasn't able to make it interesting enough. The most I could do was decorate the garb. See, the emperor usually has a solid black cloth piece, and a headdress that sits on top.

I don't really want to avoid skin challenges, but do you by chance have any other medieval Japanese skin ideas? I love working from that area, the culture and everything is so interesting.
