I think what throws it off though, is that the hair has lots of shading and such a big yellow/violet hue-shift. It contrasts with the rest of the skin. (Not by color choice, by shading style.)

But I applaud you on doing something you don't normally do! You'll be more confident the more you do it, and vice versa!
