Made this for the Lovecraft v2 Jam. Loosely based on Azathoth. THE WRITING TOOK SO LONG.
The Vault (READ THIS ONE FIRST)
Seer Wilma, I have a curiosity for thou.
What is it you seek?
My comrades and I have discovered a gargantuan wall at the center of the Universe. There have also been rumors going around of a codex describing an enormous structure that is full of items lost to time. While the codex is just a rumor and no evidence has been found, we have concluded the structure described and the wall we discovered to be the same. The expedition lead has put all his forces into getting inside and seeing if the rumors are true. At first, we searched the wall for any signs of a crack to possibly slip in, but no such entrance has been discovered. Our leader then decided we must get in through force and despite our technology, we have yet to make a dent in the wall. It’s as if the wall is made of some unbreakable material. I and my fellow workers wish to see if the rumors are true as we have been at it for months now, but nothing has worked so far. Could you foretell if the wall will come down?
Ah, the Vault.
The vault?
Yes, that is what the structure is called. I have also been looking into that structure and its history.
What?!
I may be a Seer but discovering things for myself rather than relying on my power is much more fun. However, the Vault is something that even exceeds my power, for I have made many attempts to foretell not only when it will open, but what will happen once the items begin to spew out and I still have failed in this. The codex you speak of is also real for it is in my possession.
But how?!
I have existed for countless millennia and have gone on my adventures to seek these mysteries. The Vault is quite a mystery and there are a lot of questions surrounding it. Who created it? Why is it unbreakable? How do the items end up there? Why was it placed at the Center of the Universe? I would love to answer these but I would caution against forcing it open.
Why is that?
Hmm. I cannot disclose the evidence I have gathered to come to this conclusion, but I will say that I have come into possession of something that alludes to a being more powerful than the Gods.
The Gods? Do you mean they exist?!
Hmph. I see you explorers are lacking in information. I guess we can take a quick detour. The Gods have always existed and can constantly watch everyone’s move. Anything and everything that has happened since the beginning has been recorded. Things that were done, said, or even thought of have been saved, and the Gods can look through these recordings whenever they wish. Even items that were lost or places that have been destroyed can look back and see. Even this conversation they can look at if they wish, but thankfully they are not immediately notified and must still scroll through events and places in time to see what exactly happened. They are quite powerful, but they are not immortal.
How do you--?!
Let me finish. Through my followers, fellow Seers, and spies, I have gathered that there are creatures that have the power to instantly destroy a God. These creatures existed during the same time as the Gods and what I find to be very interesting is that these creatures are immune to the Gods' ability to pinpoint the location of anything. No records of these creatures can be searched by the Gods and thus they have been hidden. I also believe these creatures could destroy the material the Vault is made of. But enough of that, I strongly urge you to inform your leader that the Vault must stay intact.
But Seer! We have put so much into this expedition! Are you suggesting a creature that could destroy a God lies within the Vault?!
Not a creature but a being. Based on my evidence, I have concluded that a being resides inside the Vault and there is no telling what would happen if the Vault is forced open.
But...
I understand the work you and your comrades have put into getting through that wall, and I also wish to see inside and uncover the wonders lying there, but I must strongly urge you to inform your leader to halt all operations indefinitely.
What about those creatures you spoke of? What if we could find one? We could control it and--
Impossible. The Gods spoke of them like it was their worst nightmare. Being able to kill a God was thought to be absolute nonsense, but in light of this new fact, we would perish trying to control or even attempting to find one of these creatures. Also, the being residing in the Vault might even be able to survive an attack from one of these creatures. It could even be capable of destroying them. While these are all mere guesses, I cannot shake off that whoever is in that Vault will bring about absolute chaos. Again, I understand why you want to keep going, but opening that wall could end our existence. Please, tell your leader to stop trying to get in there.

Very well. I will say that while we shouldn’t make attempts to open the Vault, I assure you that someday we will uncover the secrets it holds.
