  It's approximately two hours away from Easter where I am. So yeah. Give or take a bit, it might be a little close by.

  Alright, it's been a week since my last progress report, so here we go:
  
  Futuristic Jam: Almost there! Like, 95% done. I’ve got a test this week, so fingers crossed I can finish before the submission date.
  
  Update: Test was moved to next week :D
  
  Greenest of Beans Jam: Yeah... I think I’m gonna forget about this one for a week, or wait until I’ve only got a week left and hopefully my brain kicks into hyperdrive or something.
  
  The only idea I’ve come up with so far is—guess what—another dress.
  
  Oh wait, I literally posted that dress yesterday. swearing intensifies
  
  I also tried making some weird SSPBL-style-looking things.
  
  Honestly, I’m trying to avoid making what I usually make and actually challenge myself with this one (because it’s not like the jam is hard enough already, right? Green? Easy, right?).
  
  I’ll be surprised if I manage to cook something up for this that actually meets expectations...
  
  High Fantasy Character Jam: Not gonna lie, I’ll probably put this off until the deadline’s closer. I might even rethink my ideas and come up with more palettes. The writing part is gonna take time too, but there’s still plenty of time for this one.
  
  Everyday Reshad-ish Jam: Dress in progress—sadly :(
  
  It’s actually not that bad, at least for one of my dresses...
  
  I’m testing out a technique I don’t usually use, so we’ll see how it goes. The skin already has a base, but I’ll probably tweak it as I go.
  
  Skin Base Jam: All three are done! I could make more, but it only takes three, so...

  I mean adding a belt with possibly something, I dunno what, hanging off of it, to add visual interest. Cloth, pouches, some cord, maybe decorative shiny things... on a cord?

  This guy :I feel like there needs to be something at his legs—just something to add more detail. The whole red weird thing he's wearing is cool, but the black pants feel too plain for me. I feel like I need to add more. Silver might work... the metal bits for the boots could also work... I’ll probably add a hood, but I’m considering recoloring the red to brown and reshading to make a cloak-type thing instead...

  Well starting with legs, do you have buttons/clips/metal bits on the boots?
  
  For the torso, broach, or some sort of clip type things, could work with that design. Metallic trims or decoration on his clothes could work fairly well, gold if you want to go fancy, or silver if it doesn't fit his vibe.
  
  Most other ideas would require more modification, or actually knowing what the skin looks like now...

  I literally can’t do that anymore—years of making skins with zero accessories, just shading, and now it drives me absolutely insane. I’ve legit hit burnout because I couldn’t come up with one accessory. With the current skin, I’m just sitting here like, “Hmm… a watch? Why a watch? He doesn’t even wear watches.” Then it’s, “Okay, okay… maybe a—uh—a stripe design?” Yeah! Genius! Because obviously the design needs stripes here, right? No? Aghhh. I’m not even stressed about space anymore—I’m just trying to think of anything that actually makes sense.

  To be fair, while simple shading does exist today, it's generally a lot more refined then it was back then. My shading style isn't really all that simple anymore, but the general idea is simple.

  I was about to say that my gamer skins don't generally do that well either, but 11-10 downloads on a two week old skin ain't bad. It's more the girls that do not-so-great. Dunno why.
  
  I'm ignoring diamonds, since that has more to do with how many personalised feeds I pop up in then anything else...

  To be fair, I made this as a bit of a challenge—though it actually started because an old friend wanted a skin with that kind of shading. They liked it, but separating parts of the skin was a real headache.
  
  White was tough to work with. As I shaded, it would just turn gray. The style used 15 shades of “white,” and the pants had another 15 shades of gray. With colors like green, you get more range—yellow-greens, bluish-greens, etc.—but white was the request.
  
  A simpler style might’ve made it easier and cleaner, but at the time, most skinners I knew stuck with detailed shading, especially for commissions. PvP YouTubers were into that look too—it was definitely the trend. Yeah... let’s just say my "presence" probably wasn’t appreciated by the other skin makers at the time. (at least on Twitter).
  
  I was mainly a PvP Minecraft player myself, and this was just the style people liked. Kinda surreal thinking about it now... 7–8 years ago. That’s why some of my early PMC skins had “PvP” in the title, though they didn’t perform all that well—at least mine didn’t.
  
  Ended up writing more than I meant to, but oh well.

  Also, I’ve definitely heard that, but I’ve also learned that balance is important. (I remember commenting that exact phrasing on others' work during English class.) The problem with showing too much is that it can slow down the plot, which can be addressed with telling. But, of course, telling doesn’t let the reader immerse as much. I totally get that it’s a fine line to walk. Also, to be fair, I only had a few days to work on that and hadn’t written for a while.
