Compatible with 1.21!

(It may say it's not for the correct version/for an older version, please ignore that warning and enable the pack anyways!)

Since the original texture packs have been out of service in so long, I have taken it upon myself to update and renew the passion for the Aether in Vanilla, by taking the textures from the Aether II mod, and placing them for normal Minecraft textures in as consistent a way as possible. Custom textures have also been used when possible to extend the feel across the game for consistency.

Find any inconsistencies or problems? Feel free to leave a comment!

Want more of the Aether in vanilla? I suggest using this texture pack in conjunction with a datapack I've made located here, to bring the skylands into vanilla again with the help of a glowstone portal!

All textures used are provided within fair use through the Creative Commons license, "All assets of the Aether II for Minecraft 1.12.2 are under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license unless otherwise stated." This license allows use of these textures in other works as long as no additional restrictions are placed and credit is given, with alterations mentioned.

I am wondering when you will update the texture pack to 1.21? I discovered this texture pack last year, and it has become one of my favorite texture packs! (I am still used to calling it texture rather than resource packs). I am patiently waiting for it to be updated.

What kind of updates do you need? I can load it on my 1.21.1 instance, and it seems to have correct displays of things, anything in particular you need to be fixed or added?

After loading the texture pack, I have noticed some things that should be fixed. Mainly:

1. The buttons, gui when playing survival, creative, and adventure modes, and text concerning the credits on the title screen should be a type of blue. I do not recall which type of blue it was, but I do remember that those aspects were a type of blue when the texture pack worked in 1.20.0. Maybe the exact color is still there and simply updating the texture pack to 1.21 will fix it.
2. The settings menu screen, the menu screen for viewing and creating worlds, and the loading screen when loading a world used to be a somewhat dark blue Aether block. Again, I do not recall which Aether block it was, but the underlying Aether texture is mostly likely still there. I understand that these menu screen overlays were changed in 1.21, but changing it back to display those original aether menu screen overlay/textures would be beneficial.
3. Armadillos can come in different colors besides Pink. It would be nice to make Armadillos dark gray/black, as they can be this color in real-life.
4. I do not know if this is necessary, but adding the Flow armor pattern to Breezes would be a cool addition, since the pattern can be obtained using Breeze rods.
5. Please make sure this is compatible from 1.21.0 onward.

I hope this isn't too much to ask for from you.

I'm kindof giving up on the UI because it's too complicated to manage, and also the two points, armadillos don't have any parallels in aether 2, and "adding the flow armor pattern to breezes" doesn't make sense.

I completely understand, as making a texture pack is probably very time consuming.

Also, I am wondering if you considered adding the Moa texture from the original Aether mod for a mob at some point; I know it does not make sense with the current mobs, but Mojang is eventually going to add Ostriches and/or Vultures when Desert, Badlands, and Savannah biomes get updated.

If it exists in the aether 2 mod before a certain point, I am allowed to use that texture, barring that, I'm not allowed to use textures from the aether 1 or later versions of the aether 2 mod, as their copyright has been changed, but does not effect retroactively, so legally I can only use the textures in a specific version, that being said, if they add mobs that are close enough resemblance to make sense, then sure I can probably see about retexturing them in the far future.

Oh. I thought texture packs have to be the same version as the game version being played in order to use those texture packs. The game says "incompatible", so I have not tried to load it into Minecraft 1.21.0. I will let you know if I have any errors when loading the texture pack.

Also, since you are the creator, based on your opinion, do you think the textures of the new 1.21 blocks are perfectly compatible with the Aether as they are? I never played the original Aether mod, so I have very little experience with Aether lore or aesthetics.

Oh, sorry, I guess I didn't update the pack version, it works in 1.16.1 without any additional changes, so have at it!
