any idea when the ores/horse armor will be made/added? i tried making my own custom ores using the block, but i cant quite get it to look as good as the other stuff.

I haven't changed the ores or horse armour because I'm planning on making a separate texture pack for those kinds of things later. I'm not sure when that will be though, it might be a few months from now.
