This Resource pack was inspired by the Heroes of Olympus (and it's predecessor, Percy Jackson and the Olympians) book series by Rick Riordan. Made by: theOlympians
In this resource pack, you'll find that your usual tools and weapons have become archaic in nature, adding an ancient "flare" into your Minecraft worlds. Your dime-a-dozen utilities have also transformed into exciting surprises as well...
In the Heroes of Olympus book series, There are 7 main characters; Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Jason Grace, Piper Mclean, Leo Valdez, Hazel Levesque, and Frank Zhang. They are Demigods of Ancient Greek and Roman descent, who in the modern world, fight age old monsters from the Ancient Greek myths, trying to prevent the evil Gaeia from waking and destroying mankind. These 7 heroes fight with weapons similar to the ones handed to you through this resource pack, so any fanatics can live out their own adventures in the Minecraft World. I, for one, am a fanatic for the books, and the myths. I love the concepts so much that I actually started my own collection of Ancient and Medieval Weapons. The Xiphos in this pack is actually modeled after my own in real life. Mine is Carbon Steel of course, because having a sword completely made of silver is costly in obtaining, and in maintenance.
Also, I bet that some of you have identified already (if you've seen my Kingdom Hearts resource pack)the fact that I like to toy around with these well-established fantasy concepts, and I'd like you to know that I did so not only in my Kingdom Hearts Resource pack, (with the spirit gauge) but with this one as well. You'll find that I've replaced Iron with what is now called "Archaic Silver". This is a magical substance I made up that I think will fit in well with "Celestial Bronze", "Imperial Gold", and "Stygian Iron". Basically, it's the equivalent of Celestial Bronze and Imperial Gold with it's monster killing capabilities, but it is more in league with Stygian Iron as it is relatively rare to be used in such cases as for weaponry. I developed the idea on my own because I like silver more than bronze or gold, and if gold is anywhere, there should be silver too, because they're like Yin and Yang.
Side note: I use a lot of crowd favorite weapons for the lower-level slots like stone swords or gold swords because A~it makes sense most of the time, and B~I like to get people used to being okay with fighting with the basics, I mean not everyone has access to ALL-DIAMOND stuff, so the placing for this is supposed to get people to favor the less powerful, more humble weapons and tools for battle. I mean, I battle with an Iron sword and Fishing Rod, an Iron helm, Leather breastplate, Iron greaves, and Iron boots, and I still wreak havoc on the battle field. I even defeated a guy with diamond equipment as well. The way I play sort of teaches people to be humble and tactful on the battle field, and the resource packs help by making the weapons look wicked. Take a look at the KH resource pack I made. The crowd favorite keyblades are actually in the iron section, and if they are diamond, they're either a pickaxe or a shovel. I designed these resource packs to help players reason during battle, and use tactics and techniques, not just the horrible current battle style of run up and repeatedly click the mouse. I hope you guys feel the same way about Minecraft combat, or physical combat in other matters.
Note: The "Death's Scythe" implemented into this resource pack is actually from the video game "The Darksiders 2". My friend requested it since Death in different religions doesn't really change much, regardless that the lore for Darksiders is 4 horsemen stuff, and Death in Olympian Standards is Thanatos. There wasn't a reason not to, so there you have it.
Changed:
~Iron/Silver into "Archaic Silver" to be retextured later
~the Trident (my 2nd favorite weapon, and yes, I do use a fishing rod in combat.) just got a wicked makeover
~Regular gold into "Imperial Gold"
-reshaded stygian iron sword
-repositioned stygian iron sword; now takes the iron axe's place
-edited the stone axe into an exceptional battle axe
-re designed and detailed armor; Silver Armor is now standardCorinthian Armor, (Corinth is anancient Greek City-State) Gold Armor is now Roman, with the helmet made to represent cavalry helms, diamond was not changed much, and ALL Cuirasses (greek breastplates) have been made into the traditional muscle muscle form, no longer are they just flat pieces of metal or cloth!
-addedgraphics to "control of the water" and "control of the lava" magic powers, and the regular "control aura" as well. Ice magic may be demoted to regular snowballs again.
-reshaded some weapon textures
-used block textures from my Kingdom Hearts Resource pack for this one, since people really liked it there, and I'm too lazy to make up new ones for now :P
-spiders now have a yellowish brown tinge, to match the book art for Arachne
-Cave spiders, now called "Cave Dwellers" have a pretty purplish tinge.
-Blazes are now Aurae, or Storm Spirits
