How to install Minecraft Resource Packs

This resource pack puts the different axolotl colours and babies in their bucket item! It requires Chime for 1.17, and Minecraft 21w13a or later (earlier snapshots did not actually store axolotl in their buckets).

Chime for 1.17 is not yet released. You can compile chime's 1.17 branch from source, or just wait for it to be properly released.

I didn't bother for looking for if anyone had made this till i made my own but i'm very surprised how similar our texturing came out! I made mine for my friends using Optifine, then remembered that i should post it on here. There are a few differences like shorted legs for babes, but very nice work! the shortened legs do make sense. i also feel like i should tweak the "chin" shade lighter on the babies, while you've made most of them lighter all around?
cool to see because i probably wasn't gonna support optifine myself :p

That's fair tbh, and yeah i just kept the lighting the same just since it keeps the color palette consistent like other minecraft items sharing the palettes if it's the same material. Only the leg sections were hue shifted like the original was and the lip color for some of them is custom to try and match its model but not be too dark as an item.

tf is chime? why wouldn't use use the more mainstream optifine?

optifine causes a lot of compatibility issues with other mods, and on fabric we have better alternatives for most of what optifine attempts. (sodium/etc for performance, iris for shaders, plenty more)
that said, the snapshot version of chime i made this for isn't compatible with the full release of 1.17 yet, so you won't be able to use this on full 1.17 currently.
