The word "elytra" is actually the word for the wings of beetles. Why not have a resource pack that matches the name? These wings are based on the colorful shells of jewel beetles, beautiful insects used for jewelry and decoration since ancient times.
There are two layers to the texture, the rainbow shell visible from the top, and the other is the brown wings underneath. If you find the brown under-wings unappealing, or do not wish to have the double-layer version for any other reason, the single-layer version is here.

I'll update the listing soon but it's booted up just fine on 1.16 so far. I don't know if there were any major changes to elytra in the Nether Update, so any differences between 1.15 and 1.16 in that regard should be minimal.
