you can rename them by creating a folder called lang in the minecraft folder and putting a json file in it called en_us.json (this only works with usa english) and put this in the file:

{"item.minecraft.beetroot":"NAME HERE","item.minecraft.beetroot_soup":"NAME HERE"}
