BitKnit texture pack by SuperAlgae
for Minecraft 1.4.6 (plus 13w01b)

** If you want to use this pack with Minecraft 1.3 or earlier, delete the files mob/zombie.png, mob/pigzombie.png, mob/wolf_tame.png, armor/cloth_1.png, and armor/cloth_2.png from the texture pack zip file. You can replace them with copies from Paper Cut-Out 1.24 or earlier if you want.

** If you want to use this pack with Minecraft 1.2.5 or earlier, delete the file "gui/allitems.png" from the texture pack zip file and optionally rename "gui/allitems-1.2.5.png" to "gui/allitems.png".

This pack provides a clean, stylized look while staying true to the original Minecraft textures. The simple patterns often resemble woven, quilted or knitted cloth. That is the inspiration for the name "BitKnit".

The UI, terrain, armor, moon, most creatures and other objects are re-skinned. The armor differs from the default Minecraft textures more than the rest of the pack. I had also adjusted the foliage color, but Minecraft's foliage system (especially swamps) causes too many problems, so I dropped that from the final pack.

As with the default textures, Minecraft can exhibit noise or moire effects at a distance. Although this is not generally a problem, I highly endorse OptiFine. With the right AA and AF settings, it does a good job of smoothing out Minecraft.

Additional Notes

If you distribute this texture pack, please keep it in its original form and provide credit with a link to this page. If you wish to alter or extend the pack, post a comment to this page with a means for me to contact you.

It is mostly in the way that he shades the items/blocks to give them a multi-layered effect. I'm working on learning it for myself. :P

If I remember correctly, no textures changed in 1.4.7, so for the purposes of a texture pack, it is the same as 1.4.6. Let me know if I am overlooking anything.

Update it! I know you are busy with paper cut-out, but I like bitknit more and I'm not a fan of the way paper cut-out changes some stuff. So please update this more, that will make it more popular too! P.S. You did a wonderful job with this so far!
