Make sure you finish at least 95% of the terrain.png before releasing it. Because lot's of people might already like it but the won't download it. Those people will probably forget about it and that way you miss a lot of downloads.
Also try to stick to your style, which is from what I can see: A plain background with some lighter and darker squares which only have higlights(Btw (This is all up to your preference) highlits usually don't go out 2 pixels each direction from the top left. Try to extend the lines all the way to the end, this will make for a way more natural look)
