This resource pack allows you to build detailed, custom street lanterns.
For the poles I changed the textures of the nether_brick_wall and nether_brick_fence. The lanterns themselves are end_rods whose model will change depending on the orientation.
I recommend using this pack in combination with Optifine to enable emissive textures. However, this is not a necessity.
