how does this even work? I looked at the files and if i guessed right, you are basically replacing the ambient sound for mobs in that region with your own custom sounds.

Resource packs like this are able to add ambient sounds to Minecraft using the surface type walked on and entities. This can cause sound anomalies when too many sounds are involved so I will be purely focusing on ambience. (I just copied this from my curseforge post lol). But yeah, basically.
