                  Reminder that the pack is still under development so things may change in future updates!!

                  Hello people, last year I started a private resource pack which had the goal of reproducing Minecraft Beta as much as possible, first started with textures then developed into custom models, blockstates and everything in between. After working on it for nearly a year with feedback from several people, I decided to make this public to everyone to enjoy.
                  The resource pack is being developed for both versions 1.15.X and 1.12.2 (still in development), an older version for 1.12.2 can be downloaded on the github page.


                  The pack mainly includes:

                  - The basics
                  * Old textures, mainly from the beta era, newer ones were retextured with the intent of making them feel classic without breaking the style
                  * Old sounds pre-2011 sound update, newer sounds were either deleted or adjusted, replacing the newer sounds with the old ones were it could fit (seagrass placing/removing has wool sounds)
                  * Custom en_us.json
                  * Optifine: old light, old chests, custom models for some entities and other things
                  * Custom colormap
                  * Custom made textures for newer blocks and items. All these ones are own work.

                  - The cool stuff
                  * A lot of custom models and blockstates, custom models for blocks and items, watch the main changelog if you're interested in that.

                  v1.4b - 1.16
                  - Retextured nether grass, basalt, mushrooms, shroomlight, nether planks/stem, netherite block, nether vines, ancient debris, nether gold ore, respawn anchor, polished basalt, lodestone, blackstone and variants, cracked nether brick, chiselled nether brick, quartz bricks, chains
                  - Included soul soil texture by Misterk7_-, from www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/classic-nether-textures-on-1-16/
                  - Added custom models for new fences, fencegates, trapdoors, pressure plates, doors etc
                  - Pots and redstone don't have a bottom texture again
                  - Piglins have the old pigman skin (adapted)

                  - Anvil.json is now template_anvil and it applies to all anvil variants
                  - Fire related jsons fixed (name of the parent model was changed)
                  - Removed "soul" particle
                  - Missing/obstructed bed original text message (already present but ye)
                  - Campfire w/ soul variant now have a 3D model in the GUI

                  v1.3.2 - 1.15.2
                  - Bamboo (w/ potted version) now uses 2D "cross" template, adjusted sounds
                  - Removed grass block side texture overlay
                  - Cornerless legs for cauldrons (pre 1.8)
                  - "Can't reach server" and "Polling..." text on multiplayer menu
                  - Retextured honey block (Minecon 2019 version)
                  - Retextured magma block
                  - Fixed a bunch of names in lang.json
                  - Old Enderman sounds
                  - Fixed incorrect texture mapping in template_trapdoor_open.json
                  - Fixed acacia trapdoor having wrong side texture for the open state
                  - Cauldron has grass_block_top texture in the inventory
                  - Fixed hitting sand having new sounds
                  - Removed some redundant textures
                  - Removed the bearded steve skin and added it to the Alpha Pack (it was a feature in 0.24_SURVIVAL_TEST)
                  - Beds now have oak planks as bottom texture again
                  - Removed conduit texture (gui)
                  - Lily pads now only face north
                  - Fixed fences not having custom blockstates
                  - Removed horse saddle (too new, doesn't fit)
                  - Retextured Phantom off the early texture from 18w07a
                  - Lantern now actually has proper metallic-like sounds
                  - Honeycomb block retextured by Misterk7_-
                  - Fixed enchanting table wrong texture mapping
                  - Removed underwater particles
                  - Water should have the old blue colormap now
                  - Campfire has neutral blockstates aswell

                  * Fixed leaves.json being broken

                  * "You can only sleep at night" is back again
                  * XP orbs don't make sounds when collected again
                  * Removed sound for flowing water
                  * Removed sounds for infecting/curing a villager
                  * Fixed nether brick stairs having cobblestone texture
                  - Fixed inner_stairs and variants (one cube was badly mapped and causing issues on sandstone stairs)
                  - Retextured tulips (flowers)
                  - Added old end sky
                  - Fixed walls, fences and fence gates bad texture mapping (more custom models)
                  - Fixed z-fighting on e-chest front texture

                  I mean, which files did you have to overwrite so that we get those inventory textures?

                  Uhm I don't really see what they got from my pack, the only thing I see similar are the fish buckets but they're so easy to make they probably made them by themselves

                  You should adjust the yellow coral, it looks like it has a bunch of other colors bleeding onto it, probably from cropping it from Minecon screenshots.

                  I took the texture from the wiki it's exactly how it was first designed, not my problem if it wasn't a nice texture, I'm just reporting what Mojang did.

                  But ye I agree that first version sucks.

                  You can't do that in vanilla Minecraft unfortunately, I'm testing that with optifine but it's still broken as of now.

                  you can just extract the files from the 1.4b zip file and delete everything but the weeping vines' texture. twisting vines use default texture as of now

                  An amazing resource pack!I love the untweaked beta textures,and on Bedrock edition, the colormap is pretty accurate.I suggest to use the Mob Vote concept art Phantom texture.

                  Thank you! Yeh I'm aware of that I've even tried putting the old one but the model changed during 1.13 snapshots and it will need some adjustments, I was considering retexturing the turtle aswell, I'll see what I can do :^)

                  I agree.As a Bedrock Edition player, with little to no skills I can replace mob models unlike Java.Its interesting how will you change the turtle, as I don't have any ideas.So good luck.

                  First of all, a great pack, I love the old school style of it. This pack absolutely nails the old look of the game like no other I've seen before. The only major problem I have in the pack is the (I think) mipmapping, or to be more specific, the lack of such. Every time I look at leaves in the distance they all look like a pixelated mess. I get that it's supposed to look like the old school style of Minecraft, but sometimes, at least in my opinion, it is more important to have some of the newer graphics improvements. It would be fantastic if you could make a version without these changes. Anyways, I am looking ever more towards Optifine 1.15 so I can see what the lighting in this pack looks like!

                  Edit: I forgot my favorite detail! The little grid pattern on the nether portals is a fantastic touch and I completely forgot about it since beta. I haven't seen any other beta packs do this yet.

                  The leaves are supposed to look like that, yes. You can always remove the json file in the pack if you don't like that, assets/minecraft/models/block/leaves.json.
                  I made that custom model on purpose, I took as a reference versions from beta 1.0 to beta 1.7.3 and those weren't affected by the smooth lighting system.

                  Thanks for noticing the custom portal model! If you play with the pack for a while you'll notice many more "old" models, like glitched side doors, trapdoors, glass panes and more :^)

                  Pack was updated to v1.3.1 which included some bugfixes and new textures for the bee nest (see changelog). I still have some doubts about the bottom texture, I'll decide in the near future if leaving it like it is now or changing it again.

                  Also, if you recognized what's the structure in the last pic for the pack, props to you :^)
