This video covers the armor textures from this Heavy Armor pack as well as textures from my Battlepack (link below).

OVERVIEW
This HEAVY ARMOR pack contains a set of heavy armor and apparel textures inspired by other dark fantasy worlds. The item textures are 16x while the armor models themselves have increased resolution to allow for armor textures with more detail which will look great in your medieval worlds while maintaining play-ability (gold armor is immediately recognizable as gold armor for example). This pack contains only the HEAVY armor and apparel textures from my main pack.

If you just want heavy armor, elytra, and horse armor textures, this is the pack for you and it can be used in conjunction with my main pack to set the Default look to be the Heavy Armor. However, if you like this pack I would encourage you to complete your look with my GRIMDARK TOOLS, or grab all my textures in the GRIMDARK BATTLEPACK.

This is one of my favorite critiques! I totally get that we as a community use 16x to refer to default resolution, but Vanilla armor textures have a pixel density that is inconsistent with Vanilla blocks. What I mean by this is that in comparison to a standard block, the Vanilla armor textures appear lower resolution. This is problematic for me as a creator as it's incredibly limiting, but it also invalidates the entire concept of 16x/32x/etc. Pixels are not rendered consistently in Minecraft so it's really a poor way to label resolutions.

I label my pack as 16x because all of the item textures and block textures I create (including the armor item textures) are 16x. My armor model textures are double the resolution of MC vanilla armor because that results in a pixel density that is closer to what it should be (and when pixel densities cannot be matched, characters & armor should be the denser of the two).

In general, I view resource packs as not only a way to customize your experience as a player, but to enhance the game in a way that is consistent with your perspective. I believe Mojang created their armor at the incorrect resolution, so I 'fixed' it in my resource packs. If Planet MC had an option to set the resolution to 'mixed' I would, but I suspect it's more misleading to call this a 32x pack than a 16x pack, so I picked the better option.

Thank you! I'll be releasing the "light" armor and "royal" armor variants soon as well. Of course, they are all available in the Battlepack, but you do have to rename things using an anvil.
