Icons improves Minecrafts menu buttons, GUIs and other things WITHOUT the need of Optifine!It works for Minecraft versions 1.14, 1.15 and 1.16
You should use 1.16 though, since it was made in that version
This pack is probably compatible with all resource packs, as long as it stays at the top in the resource packs selectionWe cannot guarantee that Icons will work with packs that change the font of minecraft, since it was made with the default textures in mind
How to use:Drop the pack into your resource packs folder
Select Icons
(Have it on top of other packs if you use more)
Be sure to set your language to en_US!It wont work otherwiseEnjoy!
If your game crashes and the following applies
-You use a laptop
-You have an intel cpu
-You have either a Nvidia or AMD graphics card
Try the steps below:
- Right-click on the desktop and select the NVidia Control Panel.
- Click on Manage 3D Settings at the left window, and then locate the Global Settings tab and select the High-performance NVidia processor from the drop-down menu.
- Then navigate to the Program Settings tab to allow the NVidia GPU more specifically for Minecraft, and click on the Add button.
In the pop-up window, click on the Browse button.
- Open the Minecraft folder in the Add window, and then find the bin subfolder and select the Javaw.exe file in the folder and click on Open button.
- The bin folder is located in the C:Program Files (x86)Minecraft Launcher/runtime/jre-x64/bin by default.
- After that, click on the Select the preferred graphics card for this program from the drop-down menu.
- Select the High-performance NVidia processor option and click on Apply to save the changes.
Right-click on the desktop and select AMD Radeon Settings option.
- Go to System tab and click on the Switchable Graphics option.
- For an overview of your installed software select Installed Profile Applications.
- Click on Browse to select Javaw.exe file for Minecraft.
- Select High Performance for the designated GPU and Save.
If you still have problems, we are not able to help any further.

You might be doing something wrong then.
You always have to check if "ascent" and "height" are correct, the unicode is not used already and of course, commas.

My questions here are, if you have a laptop and if yes, does it have a graphics card?
Because it seems there are some issues regarding integrated graphics by intel cpu's being used instead of, if available, the graphics card.
