Light Leak Title

Did you ever feel like minecrafts lightsources looked a bit boring? Say no more!

Light Leaks main feature are coloured light shimmers, light cones and light spots added to the lightsources in minecraft!

Additionally it slightly changes the models of minecrafts lightsources to look more realistic and visually pleasing, while staying true to minecrafts vision!

Here is how torches look ingame!

Torches Ingame

Using the pack could lead to some performance issues, due to more particles and more complex block- and itemmodels being rendered.

The following blocks/items are currently affected by Light Leak:

  • Torches
  • Soul torches
  • Redstone torches
  • Lanterns
  • Soul lanterns
  • Chains
  • Comparators
  • Repeaters
  • Rails
  • Activator rails
  • Detector rails
  • Powered rails
  • Redstone lamps
  • Copper bulbs

Light Leak should be compatible with most shaders, although I did not test any.

This pack required the mod Polytone for most features to work!

I had a look in game and i thought that the models where rays are a 3d part could just spawn particles at every face of the block or something.
Idk if it's gonna look awful, but i suggest to give it a try.
Edit: lanterns can simply have the particle shoved into them as they're transparent

Yeah I could do that but I dont think it would change much other than increasing the particle count and therefore getting closer to the particle cap… or do you see some benifit?

For some features I use custom particles (like the shimmers) and for some custom models. You do need polytone tho!

I suggest looking into the polytone wiki! Its quite a cool mod that can do many things, for example custom particles using a json files!

Lights, rails, glowstone — everything looks brighter and way cleaner. It doesn’t change the whole game, just makes it look more polished and fresh. If you like your world looking neat and shiny, this one’s a must
