Mounted Torches

Have you ever created an epic base in minecraft but your torch situation looks lackluster? Does your wall look barren because the Vanilla torches look so bland and dull! Do you want to use a cheaper lighting source without needing to grind too much for lanterns or candles?

Well do I have the texture pack for you!


Mounted Torches brings a nice and simple sconce to wall torches, allowing your castle to look (somewhat) authentic!

Additions & Changes

The main focus for this pack was to create a more logical look to torches without distracting from Vanilla Minecraft.
  • Wall Torches now have a stone sconce to hold it up.
    This applies to all kind of torches including Normal, Soul, and Redstone.
  • Held Torch Item is now 3D
    This is mostly because when using dynamic lighting, torches look odd and thin in item form.
Compatibility & Requirements

Here is everything this is compatible with.


  • Vanilla Compatible; Optifine not Required!
  • Compatible with other texture packs!*
    *WILL NOT WORK IF TORCH MODEL IS CHANGED, ONLY TEXTURE! (To tell if it works, look inside the wanted texture pack and navigate to assets>minecraft>models>block and look for "template_torch_wall.json". If you see it, either put this texture pack above that one (and hope for the best) or remove the conflicting texture pack.

Insight & Attributions
Before creating this pack, I was using dynamic lighting to light up caves without needing to place them. however, I noticed the small and thin nature of the held torch, so I simply changed it.
Another reason I made this pack was to challenge myself. This is my first BlockBench model made, I think I did well :)

Hey man, amazing texturepack, love it, been using it for a while, one recommandation is to fix this one glitch with the torches when looking at it from below.

This is exactly what I needed. I wish this was the default. Now I can use torches with lanterns and not be bothered by them. Thank you!
