All blocks contain a normal and specular maps, which makes them look realistic and natural. Optifine and shader are required. Niel resourcepack is optimized and tested primarily for the Complementary shaders.
You can also use other shaders (BSL, Seus renewed, Kuda, Continuum, Sildurs Vibrant... ) but keep in mind that if you use another shader, minor differences may occur, such as color balance, different 3D effect display, etc.

In the worst case, Niel resourcepack can be used without optifine/shaders, but the blocks will be flat without a 3D effect. I do not recommend this variant of use.
