or you could just use a 8x or lower texture pack that does a better job then any 16x

It looks nice, but it doesn't affect lag, it's still 16x but it just looks 8x (just like all 8x) It does look nice though, but minecraft cant' got less than 16x so the lag is the same.

Oh? If I get a texture pack that is half the size? litterally? as in the dimensions for each block is 8 pixels by 8 pixels?
