This resource pack aims to create an immersive prehistoric survival experience in Minecraft by replacing mobs with dinosaurs that complement the original mob's behaviors. Each dinosaur added is designed around a real-life species or genus and comes with custom drops, sizes, and other attributes(such as movement speed and health).
Downloading the associated datapack will unlock a ton of other content including structures, advancement, custom items and recipes, as well as new weapons themed around the items dinosaurs drop!
Update 2.1 is out now! Check out the changelog on my website.
The upcoming species list is already planned, but I am open to suggestions for specific dinosaurs, item drops, or other feature suggestions you have, so feel free to comment!
Current species list:
Camarasaurus, Avimimus, Styracosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Chunkingosaurus, Therizinosaurus, Psittacosaurus, Carcharadontosaurus, Dryosaurus, Utahraptor, Stegosaurus, Spider, Bristletail, Whiptail, Dracorex, Shantungosaurus, Gigantoraptor, Lambeosaurus, Euoplocephalus.
NOTE:
-This resource pack is meant to be paired with the Project Extinction Datapack to have access to all of its features. It still works without the datapack, but key elements such as recipes, mob attributes, etc. will be missing.
-This resource pack also requires either the matching version of OptiFine if you are using CurseForge, or Entity Model Features if you use Fabric or Quilt. One of these mods is required for my resource pack to change the models of entities so you will need one of these installed for the pack to work.
My friends Pheonix and Dolan have a Project Extinction series on their YouTube channels! This is from the 1.0 version of the resource pack but it is still a really fun ride and worth the watch. Watch from the beginning or start here for the beginning of the dinosaur madness:
Make sure to subscribe to both of these guys and check out their other content, they are absolutely worth your time!
All content and textures for the current version are made by myself, with input and feedback from Pheonix and Dewlan.

I take pride in the original content that I create, and I will take your constructive criticism to heart when producing the next quality update.
Sea turtle = Archoleon
Iron Golem = Tyrannosaurus (found it fitting)
Axolotl = Diplocaulus
Drowned = Spinosaurus (would spawn much more rarely than normal drowned due to being this)
Salmon = Onchopristis
Cod = Coelocanth
Frog = Beelzelbufo
As of right now I'm not sure if I'll focus on making humanoid mobs dinosaurs due to how I'm making the pack, but I will definitely keep those ideas in mind for future updates.
Thanks!
If neither trex or spino work out as reskins of humanoid mobs, try making tyrannosaurus into a panda, and spinosaurus into a llama. The reason I chose spino to be a drowned is because not much else actually fit it, there are only two semi aquatic mobs in minecraft, those being the drowned and axolotl, so I chose the drowned since I wanted axolotl to be diplocaulus. As for tyrannosaurus, I wanted it to act as a rival to the carcharodontosaurus, so i chose it to be an iron golem reskin. (the arm movement wouldnt be too noticeable)
The drowned's AI would allow for Spinosaurus to be semi aquatic, as it should be, although its anims would be a bit wonky due to the drowned being a humanoid. The iron golem would legit only need a model change and its perfect.
