Its a texture pack with Sapphire instead of gold. Its My 2nd texture pack so not the best. Also inside in the file there's a readme file and a en_us. Which changes the item name. Just read the readme file to find out how. Delete them after used.

but rubies ARE emeralds because they almost were what are emeralds now in 1.3 and the ore for rubies must have the same texture only red and same with this they're ALL gems and gems require that texture

but I like how you changed the names without using some magic anvil which makes all of that thing that does (and will) exist. does that do the same with the rubi pack?
