I've spent a good week on this now and I'm pretty happy with most of the boxes but feel free to ask for adjustments or give some ideas!
The original shulker box isn't changed so if you use these in a group, the original is still an option.
Animal Backpacks:
Red - Ginger Cat
Orange - Fox
Black - Panda
Blue - Axolotl
Green - Frog
Lime - Alex
Light Blue - Steve
Brown - Teddy Bear
Light Gray - Rainbow Sheep
Pink - Pig
Purple - Enderman
White - Penguin
Yellow - Bee
Normal Backpacks:
Magenta
Gray
Cyan
This changes both the block and the item and the block only faces one way when placed. You can place these in item frames if you wish to change their direction.

Questions:
1. Are you aware if this works on 1.20.1 (haven't had the time to test it out myself)
2. When you said this is an optifine pack does that mean it wont work on standard java edition? or perhaps forge? (I don't know alot about optifine sorry)
3. is it possible to somehow remove the water bottle pocket holders on the side myself?
Ideas:
You asked for ideas so I thought I might share some :)
1. red panda (Ailurus fulgens)
2. pink axolotl or mojang colors ie. white/pink, yellow..
3. Claw machine/gumball machine/arcade style backpack (not sure how glass textures would work on this)
4. Arctic fox
5. Witch's bag (with perhaps a cauldron/witch hat keychain charm) [I noticed you have extended textures with the animal on top of the fox bag]
6. Modification: cute black antennae on bee maybe
7. cat w/ hanging tail on the bottom
8. Pirate treasure chest looking bag with complimentary key - keychain
9. Cbibi pirate with hooked arm, pegged leg and gold tooth
10 Chibi Skeleton / Zombie bags (thought these would look adorable)

Thank you so much for the ideas, I was going to revamp this and add a better normal option of a more heavy duty backpack and change some of the designs I don't like.
I don't believe it currently works in 1.20.1 but you can totally try it out, it can only not work. The pack is optifine required so if you have forge and optifine that should be fine as well and is what I usually do
