Usually just one color or if more detailed there is a little bit more in it but not usually... I've used it for a while and it usually makes it run faster, NOTE: THIS IS ONLY THE TERRAIN!!! and enjoy this wonderful texture pack!
UPDATED:
It's been modified so that the colors are dis-orientated and some new block textures were added and have been fixed.
UPDATED 04/08/12:
Since 1.3.1 came out and some new textures with it I've added those to the texture pack, I still need to find the texture on chests and Ender Chests.

Some textures have been fixed, bread looks like muffins and the sun is epic smiley face now!

AWESOME UPDATE! Signs, boats, chests, ender chests, and arrows look simple. So does the Mojang logo and Minecraft logo, I'm planning to do another awesome update soon to get most of the game simple, enjoy!
