A 128x realistic 3-D rendering of the complete rail set. A complete 3-D work-over. 23 models add full 3-D rails, ties, and components for extra dimensionality! Animated powered rail action! I took a step away from the original modeling, widening the distance between the rails, and added rendered items for the inventories and hotbar.
OptiFine emissive textures are included! The emissive textures use _e as the suffix and may need to be altered according to your properties. Please see here for details. If you don't run OptiFine, Minecraft will simply ignore the emissive files.

Comments welcome! Is it overdone? Not detailed enough? Let me know your thoughts!

I'm just getting started uploading new and original content! My intentions are to keep my content modular. Like this piece but not that? Just grab what you like!

Be sure to check out my other content for more 3-D job blocks and more! More mobs, entities, items, and blocks to come!

A word of warning: these models contain many individual cubes and 6 individual textures (including 2 animations). This makes these models a little resource-heavy, especially if used alongside other 3-D models with a lot of cubes and textures. Slower computers may bog down with the extra rendering.

Please report any bugs/problems in my guest book on my profile page. Since I don't get notifications of comments on individual packs, I may not see comments for a while.

Update #1 Oct. 26, 2022 : by SoundPhantom 10/26/2022 5:19:09 amOct 26th, 2022

Re-vamped the support structures under all elevated rails and added support to horizontal rails for those who like to build transparent bridges. Added OptiFine emissive texture.

The emissive texture uses _e as the suffix and may need to be altered according to your properties. Please see here for details. If you don't run OptiFine, Minecraft will simply ignore the emissive files.

A Suggestion and it is totally up to you

Raise the rails up so that the wood supports are above the ground, Currently, they sit into the ground. Sort of limits the 3d feel.

Also, you could if going for a more detailed realistic feel add gravel between the rails to make the 3d effect more realistic. Course this could be an issue n raised rails.

Thank you for your suggestions! I always appreciate other points of view!

The problem with raising the supports above ground is that I run out of room really quickly and everything starts to interfere with the carts on top. Currently, the design brings the level of the top of the rails to base vanilla model levels, 1/16th of a block above ground level. More than that, really is that the horizontal rail supports were intended to be hidden unless used on a transparent block for an "invisible" bridge. I actually considered a full trussel system under the horizontal rails but was unsure how to tie it together with the elevated rails without one or the other looking really funny on its own. Maybe that'll be in a future update.

I did add gravel ballast between the ties at one point during the development. It worked well for ground-level rails but quickly fell apart for anything that was raised, as you stated. I decided that if people wanted gravel ballast they could put down gravel first, under the rails. This maintains more diverse usability and maintains the option for more realism.

Okay - now I understand why you did as you did and looking at it from this perspective and with this understanding, it actually works great.
