UPDATE 1-4-2022: This pack has officially been released to the public domain!


This is a texture pack that allows you to spot where monsters are able to spawn! I was working with light maps trying to create a lightmap that removed light flickering, and after I just took the base for my light flickering pack and turned it into this.

Requires Optifine!

Also, the pack is universal, so it should work with any version of Minecraft.

I have custom lighting enabled in optifine 1.20.4, but none of these types of texture packs ever work. How do i get it to work like in the youtube video?

Ah its a shader issue. I turned off Sildur's Shader and it worked right away. Awesome. Have you thought about updating it since the game now uses light level 0 for spawning mobs in artificial light?

I was going to try and do it myself, can you explain the included files?

That's good! I like it a lot myself too. I'm already using it in my 1.14.4 survival world. I kind of feel like i made this pack first for myself. Only just recently I decided to share it.

Thanks NighJAsian for sharing that. I had no idea more people were making it. I like to be original, so maybe next time I will research a little more before I make packs like this. Oh well, it's out now. And it was fun making too :)
