Want werewolves in your game? Here there are! This resource pack adds a custom werewolf model that replaces the wolves in the game, once tamed they get arm bands and their eyes change color. These can be recolored with dye.
There are 9 types of werewolves that are based on Minecraft's 9 wolf variants, they can be found in the same biomes as expected.
They also can have 1 of 4 different body types: Normal, Brute, Gaunt, and Stocky
They have a custom animation system I threw together over a few days using Blockbench's CEM Template Loader plugin. And, I liked them enough to share it. I'd love to hear what people think about it this small and niche pack.
Wolf armor isn't supported by the plugin(yet?), so a little gold star is placed in from of the werewolves as an indicator for them having "armor" on.
Included Datapack:
-For the 12 new werewolf variants to spawn, the included datapack "Stronger Werewolves" is required.
-Werewolves now have randomized stats
-Their collar colors are randomized(the baby werewolves are skipped though)
-Werewolves will now occasionally howl, and others may join in their howling
-Biomes that werewolves can spawn in now have a small chance of spawning new ones, this should help if a biome ran out or had none to begin with.
-Delta variants of the 21 werewolf types, they have a 1 in 100 chance of appearing.
Locations of the new werewolves:
Crimson_Forest - red werewolf*
Desert - orange werewolf
Sunflower_Plains - yellow werewolf
Lush_Caves - lime werewolf*
Mangrove_Swamp - green werewolf
Warped_Forest - cyan werewolf*
Ice_Spikes - light blue werewolf
Dark_Forest - blue werewolf
End_Highlands - purple werewolf*
Flower_Forest - magenta werewolf
Cherry_Grove - pink werewolf
Soul_Sand_Valley - skeleton werewolf
*All werewolves except 5 spawn naturally in their biomes,
the red, lime, cyan, purple, and skeleton werewolves can only spawn in high enough light levels in their biomes.
So, you'll want to illuminate the biomes they inhabit and they should eventually spawn.
Required Mods:
Optifine is required to see the custom models and animations.
(This mod is highly recommended as the Werewolf models have been developed with Optifine entirely, and work as intended.)
-OR-
Using the Fabric mod loader with Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features installed
(Fabric and the following mods do work with the Werewolf models, but there are some issues with EMF and ETF that make me wish there was a one-to-one Fabric mod that supports Optifine CEMs besides these two. There's just a lot of issues and incompatibilities due to the additions and decisions made around certain features, making maintenance a headache.)

Update #13 Fabric Baby Werewolf Model Adjustments : by Tarruvi 02/09/2025 4:05:11 pmFebruary 9, 2025 @ 9:05 pm UTC
-Made adjustments to the model for the baby werewolves as they appeared to be floating above the ground, and the size of the model was off compared to 1.21.3.
-As a side note, I also noticed some werewolves had their arm bands or eye color misplaced in the Fabric side of the resource pack. I can't pinpoint where the issue stems from atm, but most werewolves seem unaffected while a few are? Probably an issue with EMF and ETF.
