Vanilla Shader. No Optifine required. Only works with versions > 1.17.

A shader that adds a gentle breeze of wind.

    Affected blocks:
    • Leaves
    • Azalea
    • Grass / Tall grass
    • Water
    • Vines

    Requirements:
    • Play on a Minecraft version compatible with the shader. Every release has a tested compatibility
    • Enable "Fancy" graphics
    • Mods/Texturepacks that add custom items (or similar), require that you download the correct shader variant

    FAQ:
Why do I have to use the version with tested compatibility?
Every block in Minecraft is rendered by a shader program, but the shader has no idea which block it is currently rendering. It just receives the geometry and textures and happily renders the block.

Luckily, Minecraft uses a texture atlas. At startup, it generates a huge texture by combining all block textures from resourcepacks. Instead of a texture, the shader is given the coordinates of the texture on the atlas. Using these coordinates, we can find out which texture is used and thus which block is beeing rendered.

However, the generated atlas changes with every new Minecraft version and so do the coordinates of each block texture. Thats why I have to make a new patch every release.

How do I use this shader with Optifine?
The normal shader does not work with Optifine. Instead download the patched version "WindShader-<shader-version>_optifine" from GitHub .

Textures turn black. The version for optifine has been downloaded, the graphics are at maximum. What to do?

Looks very nice! Now we need a Resource Pack that adds waving water!

Edit: Sorry, I haven’t read the description saying that water is also included in the affected blocks… :|

Cause shadermagic. Addig effects to only certain blocks requires workarounds. The one I'm currently using is very susceptible to texturepacks, mods and MC versions. I recently learned a much better method that will support any texture resolution

Could you add wind to other blocks like flowers, dead bushes and saplings?
