Do you often wish teapots could be constructed in Minecraft? Do you enjoy bonsai trees and rock gardens? Do screenshots of your creations appear when someone Googles "asian architecture" in an attempt to find reference photos for creating a texture pack? Make those screenshots complete with the Asian flavor of the Wolfhound Pack! This pack features textures influenced by China and Japan and a handful of textures from surrounding regions. While those are all distinct cultures, I wanted to use inspiration from all of them without building a separate pack for each, as making and maintaining a texture pack is a LOT of work. I used images of the Forbidden City for inspiration for the nether, while the villagers and paintings inspired by Japan, and the rest of the blocks and items are a mix of both. I did my best to shift through the internet to find good sources when looking for ideas!

Some things to note:
  • Decorated blocks do not have drawings. Rather, they're based off actual pottery, both historical and modern, that I encountered during my trip to Japan.
  • Trims will not work. Since the armor is inspired by three different cultures, I just couldn't think of a way to make an accessory that would work for all the armors.

Looking for something a bit brighter? Try the Heavenly variant!
Looking for something a bit darker? Try the Dungeon variant!
Looking for something more ethereal? Try the Fairy variant!
Looking for something seasonal? Try the Seasons variant!
Looking for something shiny? Try the Fantasy variant!
Looking for something from the 13th century? Try the Classic Medieval variant.

Please note that since I can't upload to PMC anymore, the only option is Mediafire. I'm sorry.

Terms of Use:

Because I get asked this stuff a lot.

What can I do with this pack?
  • use it in a Youtube video, include a link back to Wolfhound
  • use it in a remix pack for redistribution, include credit and a link back to Wolfhound
  • alter textures for a remix pack for redistribution, include credit and a link back to Wolfhound
  • use (altered or unaltered) in a map for distribution, include credit and a link back to Wolfhound
  • use it for any of the above purposes without first asking permission
What can I NOT do with this pack?
  • claim it as your own work
  • put it under any sort of link that makes you money
  • upload it to websites as a texture pack. In other words, don't go to some website that distributes texture packs that I'm not already on and upload it yourself. I need to retain control of this pack so I can keep it current.
I've relaxed my standards on what you can and cannot do with this texture pack because I'm making this for the community and I want the community to be able to use it and benefit from it. There's no advantage other than ego-stroking to keep it exclusively to myself. Just don't claim it as your own.

And make sure you're following the TOS of anywhere you use it.

Update #36 : by ThistlePack 12/30/2023 10:04:53 pmDec 30th, 2023

Updated with the rest of the blocks.

The decorated blocks aren't decorated with drawings. Rather, I used photos from my recent trip to Japan as the basis for their designs. The friend I traveled with is really into pottery so it was a very pottery focused trip. We visited ancient kiln sights in Imbe, I learned a lot, we bought a lot of neat pottery, and I wanted the pots in this pack to reflect all that!

The trims won't work in this pack. They're all blank. The armor in this pack is inspired by three different cultures and I just couldn't think of a way to add accessories that would work with all the armor types. I decided to just preserve the original armor artwork instead.

Somehow I still keep getting the glitched out download. I just downloaded via mediafire today and all I get is lines or blank white for blocks. The entities work fine (and look great!) but that's it. When I open the pack in windows the textures are there so I'm not sure what is wrong.

EDIT: So further testing has revealed that trying to play with Forge is the problem. Not sure how but that's for me to figure out.

Your pack is working perfect and it looks amazing!

So when you say that it doesn't work with forge, does that include optifine?

I think this is a great pack. To be honest all other Japanese and asian styled packs ALWAYS have pink nature just because they saw sakura leaves and sakuras only grow in japan for like a month! Also, it also has ninjas too. Everyone somehow thinks we live in a world of pink foliage, people using katanas and stuff. It always furastrates me. We japanese live nearly same life, environment as that of other countries. But THIS, Armors looks like things you see in mueseums, those whatisitcalled bookshelf textures you see sometimes in temples! I can`t say anything wrong with this texture pack. I also want to say that hydrated farmland`s small water stream looks really good! I now know that`s why it`s hydrated and stuff!

I'm so glad to hear this!! I tried to find historical references for a lot of the textures because even though I'm mixing a couple cultures, I at least wanted to be accurate to the culture I was imitating. I had trouble finding good sources sometimes so it's nice to know that overall the pack works . Thank you for telling me this, it makes me feel good.

It's really glitched out for me. Do you know what could be the problem? The block and item textures just appear as lines.

Try it now. I thought I'd done something that's required for 1.14, but I might have forgotten... so I redid it. I checked it in my game to make sure it's okay and re-uploaded.

When will this be for 1.14? I'd love to play on minecraft with it.
