Additional Notes

Many of you will say, "Hmmm...this looks like a rip off of [insert name here]".
Well I'm sorry if it does, I enjoy simple texture packs and I support other developers of them but I do not use them! I have never tried out OCD as I do not want any kind of influence. So every texture you see are my own ideas and frankly, 8x8 is limited so I have to use techniques you might see elsewhere. But I did not steal any ideas or textures.

Also for those who complain about it looking awful (like the wood), I know it's awful! But I have set my palette and that's what I'm going by. I have to be inventive and use colours in odd ways. So if you hate it, find somewhere else to be.

Also, check out Octabox. It's another 8x8 texture pack and the creator is getting a bit of hate for creating an 8x8 texture pack. Show him some love.
Octabox

Here is a review of the texture pack that really goes though and covers all the blocks and mobs very nicely.
A tasty link to YouTube.

I'm always looking for feedback to make this texture pack even better. If you have the time, could you please fill out this response form? Don't worry, it's anonymous...so don't be shy to say how bad the texture pack is. :P

Did you give your permission for resourcepack.net to post this? There's like, a million sites that just steal these packs and don't credit the creator. I didn't see your name anywhere there.

Yes, I did. I work closely with them when posting content to ensure they meet my standards. You will see under the title of the pack on their page, that my name is there. I also made them link to this page so I still get exp.

Hello Zitzabis,

I like your Resource Pack very much. I also saw that it is 90 percent completed, and I was wondering if you will still complete the full thing? I would love to see that happening. Also, your work on the lore thing is very cool! I appreciate that you'd put so much work in this.
Anyway, this is what I wanted to ask, so I'll just play some Minecraft and enjoy your Pack. =-)

Seeya around,
and greetz from Monty.

The pack has kind of died due to me being so busy IRL and on PMC. However, I occasionally still work it sometimes. Slowly but surely it will be done eventually.

Also, I don't think it really died, you're still working on it and much people enjoy it, right?
I'll be off now, so seeya around.

Sorry, I'm making all the textures myself, so I can't really have any help me. Thank you for offering though.
If you updated this, it would be a perfect pack! Get all the GUI, like the creative mode, make it completely unique from the default textures, get the new items and all that.
I was suprise with the amount of deatils you got into this 8x8 pack and you really have some nice creative blocks. I think the only thing that is missing is custom clouds everything else is perfect.......ps those swords woow!!

Yes I do, Ican't see any transparent parts in the leaves. All the other leaves show transparent parts. Excuse my bad english I'm german. P.S. the colors are awesome!

Don't worry, I'm used to English not being a first language.

But yes, no transparent parts are in-between the leaves because Mojang changed their system and they auto fill those areas at times and it's entirely the wrong colour too. So I just gave up and removed that feature. Sorry...

Lel, that logic.
"Pompeii was buried in the blink of an eye and has lots of cool skeletons. Minecraft was buried in a mass of fans and has lots of cool creepers." Indeed.

But still, awesome texture pack. Diamonded :D

Umm...the best thing I can say without a prompt, is to just go with something unique. Everyone does realistic or OCD-like siplistic texture packs, if you want to keep your interest in a texture pack and catch people's eyes, go for a unqiue idea and stick with it.

As for actually making a pack, use software like Paint.NET or Gimp. Photshop isn't really made for pixel art. And colours are very important! In my case with this pack, I set a limited range of colours but I had to choose good colours before hand. So even if you're making a pack with unlimited colours, choose the colours carefully.
Hmm, okay. I'll work with this amazing help you have given me. Is it okay if I give you screenshots before the pack is released, to see if it's okay. Because I love your style, I'm not gonna steel it though, because that would be extremely rude. I think the first pack i make with be Zitabis inspired, lol JK. I'm not gonna do that, because I would just have to copy your textures to do that. hehe, i'll come up with something.

Yeah, sure. If you want to send through screenshots you're welcome to do so. And as you near the release point, I'll give you pointers on presentation.
Okay, thanks! I've actually already done 5 textures, for the grass. I quite like how the grass turned out, simple and nice. I hope it looks good to you when I send you the shots!

I like the concept behind this texture pack and your TAYS method. I'm not a fan of using low rez, but my autistic son is and I can see this is something he'll enjoy. Even as a non-fan of low rez, I really like the simplicity of it. Complexity is nice and all, but I think sometimes we forget to sit back and enjoy the simple things too. I don't think people realize just how complex the thought process can be behind the simple texture packs like this one.

Nice video! There have only ever been two other reviews on this texture pack (there weren't very detailed). So you doing this is really helpful.
You mentioned that some of the blocks were a bit confusing and in some areas, I could have put in a bit more work. Can you tell me what blocks are confusing and what areas I could improve? I'm always looking for feedback to make my texture packs even better.

Well, it is a bit confusing only with the stone textures, with cobblestone and stone, and to the ores. But that is the only little bit confusing. Apart from that, it is a very nice texture pack, and I actually do use it a little bit for survival mode.

Thanks!
Well using a limited palette for all the textures, it can make it difficult to tell certain blocks apart. I'll look into it and see if I can fix some of the textures to make things easier.
When you work at something for hours on end, it's hard to see it's beauty and it's ugliness. You need someone else to see that after a while. lol
