Hiya!  I'm Glorifico.  This is my latest texture pack: Borealis!  It is a semi-simplistic, quirky, and bright pack I made with a palette.  I used peytonisgreat's palette from Steelfeathers' Simple Pack Showdown.  Please tell me what you think or give me ideas for improving my pack in the comments!

NOTE: Some of the textures may be rotated randomly, this is because of the alternate blocks option in 1.8.  I recommend turning it off for this pack, go to the "video settings" option to do so.  Also, I have re-named a few items to fit with their textures.

I have finished the terrain!  Next up is the GUI, or maybe the items...  I might just keep adding items and GUI in the next few updates...

Check back every so often for the latest updates!!!

"Do"s and "Don't"s of my texture pack:
Use it for pure personal enjoyment! Use it in a "Let's Play", or other such video! You can use it for an adventure map! (please provide a link to this page for downloading if you do use my pack for a map) In fact, I would encourage all of this! However,
DON'T "borrow" textures from my pack, or re-upload it anywhere else, partially or in its whole splendor. EVER. You can however, provide a link for others to follow to this page!

And thanks to Dull SwordX for this great video demonstration!

Please remember to send a diamond and/or favorite my way, it really means a lot to me! Thank you!

Update #14 : 11/12/2014 8:39:18 pmNov 12th, 2014

The Cuisine update! (ITEMS!!!)

Let me know what you think of the food items!  I made the cooked dishes have plates, which yes, look weird when eating, but I like the refined look of them.  I can make a version that overrides the plates so you can eat with your hands.

NEW:
-  carrot
- golden carrot
- watermelon slice
- golden melon
- potato (rutabaga)
- baked potato (rutabaga)
- raw fish
- cooked fish
- steak
- cooked steak
- porkchop
- cooked porkchop
- chicken
- cooked chicken
- blaze rod
- magma cream
- ender pearl
- brewing stand (item)
- paper
- map textures
- sign
- sugar
- bread
- wheat
- snowball
- item frame (item)
- barrier
- flower pot (item)
- pumpkin pie

RETOUCHED:
- potato (block)
- carrot (block)
- sun
- main menu background, some lighting differences in panorama shots that bugged me are fixed
- netherwart, made it contrast more

It's so beautiful I might just marry it (Lol not really) It looks fantastic! (Diamond, Favorite and Subscribed) (No download though, I have downloaded too many textures packs that i support that I kinda have a whole folder for it, so finding the texture pack itself is a pain!!!!

Nice! I don't normally do "simple" packs, but this one looks really good!

That's because it's not a simple pack!  It's merely semi-simplistic!  I use style, finesse, and panache to distinguish my pack!  And thank you!
Interesting challenge, good results.
I made a texture pack review to help the pack get popular! Here is the link if you want it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJAmZNec4XM&feature=youtu.be

Wow, that's a great, original texture pack. I like the colors very much. My favourite textures are: Stone, dirt, cobblestone, the wool blocks and the glass. What I don't like so much, are the (red) bricks. I would add some light/shadow effects to this texture, because at the moment, it only contains to colors, what doesn't match to the rest of the pack. Also, i would change the color of the tall grass. It has the same color than the grass blocks, and so you often can't see the tall grass. But all in all it's a great texture pack. I hope you will also add the GUI and the items. Keep up the good work. :)

despite that I don't plan using it, it looks nice,... for a 16px pack it looks even more nicer :)

GJ done.
regarding the improvements, you could try re-doing the cactus

Anything specific that I should change about the cactus?  Darker, lighter, different design?

design. brightness is fine, but the "spikes" shape is totaly out-of-place I would say.
either try breaking up the line so that dots/spike-like shapes occur, or even better add the wave-shape to it (somthing similar like the one on the stone).

:)

Its very nice but I think the browns on the dirt and log are a bit too saturated

Eh, it's part of the palette, but I think the lighter browns in the palette are a little less saturated so I'll see what I can do

Those are some very interesting designs you have going on there, I'm reminded of the movie The Emperor's New Groove, very good job on it, especially with the terrain.
